Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed, on Wednesday, the importance of organizing the issue of Pakistani visitors and holding meetings of the joint committee. The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement that "al-Sudani received the Pakistani Ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Rishan Ahmed," indicating that "during the meeting, bilateral relations and ways to develop them in various fields, political, economic and cultural, and enhance joint cooperation, as well as activating agreements and memoranda of understanding in a way that achieves mutual benefit and common interests between the two friendly countries were discussed." The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, "the necessity of organizing the issue of Pakistani visitors to the holy shrines, as well as organizing the entry and exit of Pakistani workers to Iraq in accordance with the laws in force," stressing "the importance of holding a meeting of the Iraqi-Pakistani Joint Committee in September of this year, in a way th at strengthens bilateral cooperation relations and enhances the interests of the two countries.
