Police investigate death of detainee in Irbid

A detainee involved in an investigative case was found inside a cell of a police station in Irbid Governorate. He had hanged himself inside the toilet, using one of his clothing, the Public Security Directorate's (PSD) spokesperson said. The detainee was rushed to the hospital, where the health protocol was followed to resuscitate him, but he had already passed away. The PSD spokesperson pointed out that two detainees with him inside the police station found him and reported the suicide, noting that one of his brothers had visited him an hour before the incident. The body was transferred to forensic medicine, and an investigation was initiated into the incident, the spokesperson concluded. Source: Jordan News Agency
