Irbid: The Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said that a report was received on Friday by Irbid Police Directorate and the local traffic division about a pedestrian being run over on a main street in Irbid city.
According to Jordan News Agency, the spokesperson added that after following the standard investigation procedures and taking statements, investigators became convinced that the incident had been staged and that the individual had deliberately thrown himself in front of the vehicle. This was later confirmed by a video obtained from the scene of the incident.
He stressed that the driver's awareness and adherence to legal procedures spared him from becoming a victim of fraudsters who fabricate traffic accidents.
The PSD urged drivers to follow legal procedures when such incidents occur, noting that specialized traffic investigators possess the expertise and tools necessary to determine whether an accident is genuine or staged.
