Presidency of the Republic: The aggression on the PMF’s sites is a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty

The Presidency of the Republic condemned the aggression on the Popular Mobilization Forces sites in Babylon, describing it as a "flagrant violation of Iraq's sovereignty." The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement today, "Once again, the coalition fires have targeted one of our security forces' sites in Babylon Governorate, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of a number of members of the Popular Mobilization Forces." The Presidency added, "While we regret this unjustified aggression against our security forces, especially with the continuation of negotiations by the joint committees to establish mechanisms for the withdrawal of coalition forces from Iraq, we condemn in the strongest terms this blatant aggression, which is a flagrant violation of Iraq's sovereignty. The Presidency concluded, "While we look forward to this dangerous security violation by the international coalition forces being the last on Iraqi territory, we affirm that such violations will only serve the interests of terrorist organizations lurking to harm the security of Iraq and the region as a whole."
