Price of 21-Karat Gold Reaches JD56.6 Per Gram in Local Market

Amman: Prices of 21-karat gold, which sees the highest demand in the local market, have reached JD56.6 per gram for purchasing and JD54.6 for selling, an official revealed on Saturday.

According to Jordan News Agency, Jordan Jewelers Association's Secretary General, Ribhy Allan, stated that the prices of 24-karat and 18-karat gold were JD65 and JD50 per gram, respectively. Allan also noted that a Rashadi lira, weighing seven grams, was priced at JD398, whereas an English lira, weighing eight grams, was priced at JD455.

Allan commented that the demand for gold in the local market remains modest, with supply levels around average. He further mentioned that gold prices in global markets reached $2801 per ounce on Friday, following a record high of $2817 at the beginning of the session.
