Amman: Prime Minister Jafar Hassan has articulated the government's strategic vision and its comprehensive understanding of the challenges it faces, emphasizing its commitment to delivering solutions and achieving significant accomplishments. In an interview with Jordanian TV, Hassan highlighted the government's clear work programme and its dedication to advancing initiatives aimed at creating job opportunities and sustainable income for the youth.
According to Jordan News Agency, Hassan disclosed that the government's second executive programme, set to launch soon, encompasses numerous initiatives, programmes, and legislative measures. He underscored the modernisation vision as Jordan's future project, with a primary focus on securing employment and stable income for the nation's youth. Fieldwork, Hassan noted, remains central to his approach, with ongoing visits across the Kingdom to implement positive changes and resolve existing issues.
Hassan further outlined a series of strategic projects valued at approximately $11 billion, which are slated to commence in 2026, aiming to fulfill over 80% of the country's natural gas needs from the Risha field. The Prime Minister also addressed the Amra City project, clarifying that it is intended to accommodate population growth, rather than serving as a new capital.
In discussing foreign relations, Hassan asserted that Jordan's international and regional interactions are primarily driven by the Kingdom's interests, security, and stability. He expressed support for Syria's reconstruction efforts and emphasized the importance of border security and a fair water agreement with Syria.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government's accountability through field visits and Cabinet meetings across governorates, focusing on education and health sectors. He highlighted the construction of new schools and the maintenance of existing ones as critical achievements, with plans to expand educational facilities further.
Hassan concluded by noting the significance of providing insurance coverage for over four million citizens at the King Hussein Cancer Centre, marking it as one of the government's most impactful decisions. This initiative, he stated, aims to alleviate the psychological and financial burdens of cancer treatment for affected families.
