Prince El Hassan Advocates for Industry-Academia Integration During Irbid Visit

Irbid: President of the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) Prince El Hassan bin Talal visited Al-Hassan Industrial City and Yarmouk University, where he engaged with industrial and academic leaders to discuss the enhancement of integration between education, scientific research, and the industrial sector to bolster sustainable national development.

According to Jordan News Agency, during his visit to Al-Hassan Industrial City, Prince El Hassan was updated on recent advancements and key achievements in industry, investment, and employment. In discussions with experts in industry, trade, investment, and academia, he emphasized the necessity of linking industrial enterprises with vocational training institutions and universities. This linkage aims to develop technical skills and enhance workforce efficiency, thereby benefiting the national economy.

Prince El Hassan stressed the importance of creating job opportunities and fostering economic empowerment to increase productivity, aligning with global shifts towards digital and modern work systems. He advocated for enhancing Al-Hassan Industrial City's competitive advantage as an investment hub and a center for high-value industrial production in northern Jordan.

The Prince further called for a strengthened relationship between academia and industry to support a robust national innovation system and achieve alignment between educational outcomes and labor market needs. Accompanied by Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Prince Hassan met with the presidents of Jordanian universities at Yarmouk University. Discussions centered on linking scientific research with the industrial sector and preparing for the upcoming Youth and Renaissance Conference scheduled for next April.

Yarmouk University President Malek Sharayri commended Prince El Hassan's pioneering role in advancing thought, science, and humanity. Sharayri highlighted that the Prince embodies enlightened Hashemite thought, serving as a voice of reason and conscience and advocating for justice. He noted that the Prince has established intellectual, scientific, and youth platforms that have conveyed comprehensive messages globally, positioning Jordan as a destination for thinkers and scholars worldwide.

Sharayri affirmed that Yarmouk University, alongside other Jordanian higher education institutions, remains dedicated to the mission of science, dialogue, and human development, preparing a conscious generation that upholds the Hashemite message in service of the nation and humanity.
