Amman: Her Royal Highness Princess Alia bint Al Hussein visited the Royal Environmental Protection Department at the Public Security Directorate (PSD), where she reviewed its efforts in environmental conservation and the sustainability of natural resources. Princess Alia praised the department's dedicated work, emphasizing its success in enforcing environmental laws and legislation. She acknowledged the department's role in raising awareness and educating the public about environmental issues.

According to Jordan News Agency, PSD Director Major General Obaidallah Maaytah discussed the department's role in maintaining environmental security. He highlighted the logistical and operational support that empowers the department to carry out its duties effectively, preventing environmental violations, assisting relevant agencies, and ensuring the ongoing preservation of natural resources.

Princess Alia received a briefing from Brigadier General Tamby Hamkari, Director of the Department, who outlined its core responsibilities, operational mechanisms, and collaborative efforts with government and civil society partners. The briefing covered the department's most pressing environmental challenges and its role in safeguarding the environment and conserving natural resources for future generations.
