Amman: Her Royal Highness Princess Aya bint Faisal has been appointed president of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), taking over from interim president Fabio Azevedo. Princess Aya brings a wealth of experience in volleyball governance to her new role.
According to Jordan News Agency, Princess Aya has previously served as a member of the FIVB Board of Directors and acted as an ambassador for the organization. Her leadership roles extend beyond the international stage, as she is also president of the Jordan Volleyball Federation and a member of the Jordan Olympic Committee Board of Directors.
In her remarks during the appointment, Princess Aya emphasized the critical role sports play in skill-building and enhancing community engagement. She affirmed her dedication to advancing the Foundation's global programs and initiatives, aiming to bring about positive change through volleyball.
Azevedo praised Princess Aya's past contributions to the Foundation's projects and expressed confidence in her ability to lead the organization into a new era.
