Princess Basma Distributes Aid and Launches Development Projects in Madaba

Amman: HRH Princess Basma bint Talal, Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Goodwill Campaign, delivered the campaign's aid packages to numerous families in the Madaba governorate, in collaboration with Salam Charity UK.

According to Jordan News Agency, Princess Basma visited Bashayer Al-Nour and Takaful charitable associations in Madaba, where she distributed e-learning cards for various school subjects to students from underprivileged families preparing for the Tawjihi exams. This initiative aims to enhance their academic performance. Furthermore, Princess Basma announced support for a mosaic-making project at Bashayer Al-Nour Charity Association, which focuses on training persons with disabilities to help them reintegrate into society and secure a source of income. In addition, she pledged support for a productive project at Takaful Charitable Society.

In the presence of Madaba Governor Hassan Jbour, Princess Basma reaffirmed the campaign's commitment to continuing its humanitarian efforts in cooperation with supporters and partners to improve the lives of targeted households through various forms of assistance. She emphasized that the campaign, in line with its humanitarian mission, prioritizes contributing to national efforts to reduce poverty and unemployment through programs tailored to meet the needs of families in target areas across the Kingdom.

Princess Basma further stated that the campaign works to empower women and strengthen their economic participation in the labor market through training, qualification programs, and partnerships with the private sector, as well as by supporting women's home-based projects that provide income for families. Her Royal Highness expressed gratitude to all campaign partners and supporters, both national and international, for their contributions to achieving the campaign's humanitarian goals and reaching its target groups.

The Princess praised the partnership with Salam Charity UK and its role in supporting campaign programs, highlighting the campaign's distinguished partnerships with both the public and private sectors that benefit families and vulnerable groups. During the visit, Princess Basma was briefed on the campaign's interventions and programs implemented in cooperation with local associations.

Siham Taamari, Chairperson of Bashayer Al-Nour, outlined the association's mission since its establishment in 2012, focusing on serving the local community, empowering women, and integrating persons with disabilities through its mosaic workshop. Similarly, Insaf Abu Ghura, Chairperson of Takaful Charitable Society, presented the association's programs since its founding in 2023, which include supporting underprivileged families, orphans, students in need, and the elderly, alongside women's empowerment initiatives.

Bilal Abu Tina, Chairman of the Madaba Camp Services Improvement Committee, commended the Goodwill Campaign's humanitarian efforts to support underprivileged families, empower women and youth, and improve living conditions, highlighting the committee's role in enhancing services provided to citizens in collaboration with local institutions.
