Public security directorate: Public Security Directorate (PSD) agents handled 71 crystal meth cases across the Kingdom's governorates in the 5th week of an intensified crackdown against the drug, a PSD spokesperson said.
According to Jordan News Agency, of the total figure, the spokesperson said 24 cases involved trafficking and dealing, while 47 involved use.
Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) officers arrested 42 dealers linked to the trafficking cases and detained 84 users in the remaining cases, seizing a combined 12 kilograms of crystal meth from those arrested suspects.
The spokesperson said the campaign will continue "firmly" to achieve its goals of raising public awareness about the dangers of this substance.
As for its policy, the official stated the police will hunt down whoever deals with this substance that causes death or drives users to commit violent crimes that threaten public safety.
The spokesperson renewed calls on the public to fulfill their social and humanitarian duty by reporting any information on individuals or activity related to the drug through the emergency hotline 911, adding that all reports will be handled with "complete confidentiality and seriousness.
