Amman: Brig. Gen. Raed Assaf, Director of the Traffic Department at the Public Security Directorate (PSD), has unveiled a comprehensive traffic management plan aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow and public safety during the Kingdom's New Year's celebrations. The strategy involves a substantial deployment of personnel and resources to effectively manage the anticipated surge in traffic.
According to Jordan News Agency, Assaf announced on Tuesday that the PSD will deploy approximately 2,093 traffic personnel and utilize 558 multi-purpose vehicles across the nation. The objective is to maintain a seamless traffic flow and safeguard public safety throughout the festive period. The plan involves dividing the Kingdom into traffic-based sectors, including the capital, Amman, and extending to traffic departments in various governorates.
Assaf emphasized that this sector-based approach enhances direct communication with the main operations room, enabling quick decision-making to address any traffic-related issues that may arise. Furthermore, the plan is structured to facilitate citizen movement through an extensive deployment of traffic officers, especially in areas expected to experience heavy traffic during the celebrations.
He assured that the traffic management personnel and the vehicles allocated for this operation are committed to delivering essential services to the public, thereby ensuring the highest standards of safety during the New Year's Eve festivities.
