PSD Solves 11-Year-Old Missing Person Case

Amman: Police arrested a woman following the reopening of an 11-year-old cold case, which investigators now say ended in her husband's murder. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID)'s relevant unit recently reopened a 2015 missing person case, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

According to Jordan News Agency, the missing man's wife was arrested after investigators uncovered evidence on her involvement in his disappearance. During questioning, the woman confessed to killing her husband during a domestic dispute in their home in northern Amman in 2015, the PSD said.

The suspect told investigators she struck and stabbed her husband on the head, then buried his body in the home's yard, and later reported him missing. Authorities launched a search for the victim's remains after notifying the public prosecutor.

The Grand Criminal Court prosecutor remanded the suspect in custody for 15 days on a charge of premeditated murder as the investigation continues.
