Amman: Over half a million vehicles underwent technical inspections during the winter road safety campaign, with 85% successfully passing the process, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced. According to Jordan News Agency, the PSD revealed that the main technical defects identified during the inspections involved issues with automotive lighting, braking systems, and windshield wipers. The campaign, which began on November 2, was conducted in collaboration with the Kingdom's competent authorities. The PSD stated that vehicles passing the inspection received a sticker on their windshield. For vehicles with safety-related defects, a notice was issued, granting owners a weeklong grace period to make necessary repairs without incurring any fines. Subsequently, drivers who did not comply with the requirements were instructed to address the defects and visit licensing, traffic, or highway patrol departments to pass the inspection.
