Public Prosecution investigates Zagazig train collision

The Public Prosecution ordered on Sunday 15/9/2024 the formation of two investigation teams into the collision involving two trains in the city of Zagazig in Sharkiya governorate in the Nile Delta. The first team comprised five engineers of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority and the second one from the Railway Authority specialists. The two committees are tasked with inspecting the accident site and examining the two trains to check on safety and operating devices of each one to determine reasons behind the collision and pinpoint the side responsible for it. The accident left three dead and others wounded. The teams will also verify officials' compliance with operation regulations. Source: State Information Service Egypt
