Public Works Minister Inspects Wadi Al Esh Industrial Zone Road Project

Amman: Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abul Samen, reviewed on Monday the progress of the road project linking Wadi Al Esh Industrial Zone with Amman Development Road.

According to Jordan News Agency, during the visit, Abul Samen emphasized the need to accelerate construction efforts to complete the project within the set timeframe and in accordance with the highest international standards. He highlighted the importance of the road in supporting economic sectors, particularly the existing industrial establishments in the area, which provide numerous job opportunities and drive various associated industries.

The project spans 1.2 km and involves improving the alignment and horizontal and vertical curves to effectively connect Wadi Al Esh Industrial Zone in Zarqa with Amman Development Road, ensuring smooth traffic flow in all directions.

Key components of the project include the construction of two at-grade intersections (roundabouts), utilizing the existing concrete bridge on Amman Development Road to introduce a new traffic movement that facilitates travel between the development road, Wadi Al Esh, and Amman.

Additionally, the project involves reconstructing, improving, and widening the existing road leading to the bridge, constructing the two roundabouts, and developing two linking roads connecting Amman Development Road with the bridge for traffic heading toward Amman. Proper connections, acceleration and deceleration lanes, and comprehensive traffic safety measures will also be implemented.

Furthermore, the project scope includes milling and repaving sections of Amman Development Road, expanding it by approximately 250 meters with an additional 4-meter width to create suitable acceleration and deceleration lanes for vehicles coming from Zarqa. A reinforced concrete culvert will also be constructed beneath the expanded section to maintain the existing rainwater drainage channel.
