Amman: Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abul Samen, examined the 34-kilometer Mawqar-Azraq Junction Road restoration project on Saturday. According to Jordan News Agency, Abul Samen visited the site to assess the project's status and completion rates, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the current work pace to ensure the project is completed on time or even ahead of schedule. Abul Samen highlighted the ministry's dedication to enhancing this crucial road, which serves as a link between the capital and the city of Azraq and runs close to the Kingdom's borders with Saudi Arabia and Iraq. With less than 25% of the six-month contractual period elapsed, the project has already reached 48% completion. The restoration involves the removal of existing asphalt layers, the application of a new asphalt mix, and the reinforcement of the road with traffic safety features, including road markings and reflective road studs. The work zone extends from the third kilometer after Mawqar Prison t o the Azraq Junction and measures 10 meters in width. Additionally, the project includes the maintenance of a concrete bridge located in the Mawqar Industrial Zone.
