Public Works Ministry Launches Al-Sammar Culvert Construction in Ghor Fayfa

Amman: The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has announced the commencement of construction on the Al-Sammar culvert along the Ghor Road in the Ghor Fayfa area, located in the Southern Jordan Valley district of the Karak governorate. This project aims to divert rainwater into the designated valley course, replacing outdated drainage systems.

According to Jordan News Agency, the project is part of a larger initiative by the ministry to enhance road network efficiency, maintain infrastructure, and improve traffic safety. The ultimate goal is to provide secure and sustainable routes for motorists.

The construction activities will be conducted in collaboration with the Public Security Directorate. A temporary traffic plan has been established to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of both road users and construction workers.

The ministry has indicated that main traffic will be rerouted onto a temporary bypass equipped with essential traffic safety features and signage. It has urged drivers to comply with warning signs, follow instructions from ministry personnel and traffic police, and practice safe driving habits to ensure public safety and the timely completion of the project.
