Amman: Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Sunday reaffirmed his country’s commitment to mediating between the parties involved in ending the war in Gaza, in coordination with Egypt and the United States, despite Israel’s rejection of ceasefire proposals.
According to Jordan News Agency, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that Israeli practices will not deter Qatar from pursuing its mediation efforts. He described the Israeli assault as “a dangerous precedent” that must be firmly confronted.
He called upon the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions, warning that unchecked escalation would have repercussions beyond the immediate conflict. Sheikh Mohammed stressed that the silence and failure of the international community to hold Israel to account has only emboldened it.
