Amman: Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development (QRF) has achieved a significant milestone by securing the second position in the WISE Prize for Education, an accolade that honors innovation and excellence in the education sector, for its notable "Iqrali - Read to Me" project. The initiative is designed to empower parents to instill a love for reading in Arabic in their children from an early age.
According to Jordan News Agency, this prestigious recognition was awarded after the "Read to Me" app was chosen from over 400 nominated educational institutions worldwide. In collaboration with the WISE Prize for Education, QRF developed a digital educational solution that not only strengthens the connection between children and reading but also involves parents in the early learning process.
The "Read to Me" app, available for free, offers a wide range of e-books suited for children under six, alongside interactive activities and information derived from leading learning research. This pilot version app is equipped with an AI-powered smart assistant that answers parents' questions, suggests educational activities, and creates personalized stories for children, promoting language and cognitive development.
Basem Saad, CEO of QRF, expressed pride in receiving this recognition, which honors their vision of ensuring every child receives quality education from the earliest years. Saad highlighted that the 'Read to Me' app aims to "bring reading back to every home," helping parents make reading a daily habit with their children from early childhood. He added that the award provides an opportunity to expand their impact, reaching millions of children in the region and giving them a strong start in life.
The significance of this achievement is an extension of QRF's ongoing efforts to promote a culture of reading in Arabic and to develop innovative educational solutions.
