Queen Alia International Airport Experiences 2.9% Increase in July Passenger Numbers

Amman: Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 979,525 passengers in July 2025, marking a 2.9% increase compared to the same month last year.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Airport International Group made this announcement on Sunday, highlighting the airport's performance metrics for the month.

The report also indicated that QAIA registered 7,592 aircraft movements in July, showing no change from the previous year. However, cargo traffic experienced a decline, with a total of 6,495 tons handled, which is a 6.2% drop from July 2024.

In a broader context, the airport's performance from January to July 2025 showed a positive trend. QAIA received 5,386,215 passengers during this period, reflecting a 5.5% growth compared to the same timeframe in 2024. Aircraft movements increased by 1.8%, reaching 43,923, but cargo traffic saw a decrease, totaling 38,582 tons, down 14.9% from the previous year.

Nicolas Deviller, CEO of Airport International Group, commented on these figures, stating, "Our performance in July reflects the steady growth in passenger traffic this year, building on the series of record-breaking results achieved in earlier months." He emphasized the importance of operational efficiency and adherence to international service and sustainability standards in maintaining QAIA's status as Jordan's primary gateway to the world.
