Amman: The Kingdom is set to experience a series of weather changes starting Saturday, as a low-pressure system centered over Cyprus makes its presence felt. Rain is expected intermittently across the northern, central, eastern, and southwestern regions of the Kingdom. According to Jordan News Agency, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) has issued warnings about potential flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas in the northern and central regions, including the Dead Sea area. Heavy downpours, accompanied by thunder and hail, are anticipated during the evening and night in these regions. The JMD also cautions about poor horizontal visibility in the early morning due to fog over mountainous areas and plains, as well as reduced visibility from dust in the southern regions. Roads in areas experiencing rainfall may become slippery. The influence of a cold and humid air mass will persist into Sunday, bringing cold, cloudy, and rainy conditions to the northern and central regions, extending to parts of the east and south, including Aqaba. Heavy rainfall is expected during the morning, possibly with thunder. Westerly winds will be active, with gusts reaching up to 50-60 km/h, potentially causing dust storms in desert areas. The intensity of the rainfall is expected to decrease gradually in the evening and night. On Monday, another low-pressure system centered over Cyprus will impact the Kingdom. Cold and cloudy weather will continue, with renewed rainfall in the northern and central regions, as well as parts of the southwestern and eastern regions. Downpours, possibly accompanied by thunder, are expected, with westerly winds reaching speeds of 60-70 km/h, creating dust storms in desert areas. The intensity of the rainfall is expected to lessen during the night. Saturday's temperatures in Amman are predicted to range from a maximum of 14 degrees Celsius to a minimum of 3 degrees Celsius, while Aqaba will experience higher temperatures, with a maximum of 21 degrees Celsius dropping to 10 degrees Celsius at n ight.
