Amman, The recent rainfall raised precipitation to 55 percent of Jordan’s long-term annual average of 8.1 billion cubic meters, accounting for 69% of 2022 rainfall volume, Ministry of Water announced.

In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said about 1.6 million cubic meters (mcm) were channeled into Jordan’s dams during the past 24 hours, raising their total storage to 88.5 mcm, or 31.5% of their total capacity, which amount to 280,760 mcm.

King Talal Dam received 831,000 cubic meters (cm), raising its storage to 29.4 mcm at 44% and Wihdeh Dam 410, 000 cubic meters, increasing its storage to 8.4%, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, Wadi Shuaib Dam got 139, 000 cubic meters, raising its storage to 90.6% and 112, 000 cubic meters were channeled into Waleh Dam in Madaba, incresasing its storage to 34%, the ministry added.
