Amman: Under the patronage of HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Royal Film Commission (RFC), and with the presence of HRH Princess Rym Ali, HRH Princess Jalila bint Ali, and HRH Prince Abdullah bin Ali, the Royal Film Commission organized a private screening of the Jordanian feature film "All That's Left of You" at Taj Cinemas in Amman. The film, directed and written by Cherien Dabis, has been officially shortlisted for the 98th Academy Awards in 2026, competing in the International Feature Film category.
According to Jordan News Agency, the premiere was attended by notable figures including Minister of Education and Higher Education Azmi Mahafzah, director and producer Rula Nasser, and cast members, alongside a large number of filmmakers and industry professionals. The film was shot primarily across Amman, Balqa, Jerash, and Irbid over a span of six weeks, with financial backing from the Royal Film Commission.
RFC Director General Muhannad Al-Bakri emphasized that the film's shortlisting at the 2026 Academy Awards underscores the Commission's continuous efforts to develop Jordan's film industry and enhance its presence on international platforms. He noted that this milestone adds special significance to the premiere and highlights the growing global recognition of Jordanian cinema.
Dabis expressed her excitement over the film's achievement, extending her gratitude to the RFC, participants, and supporting entities. The film stars Saleh Bakri, Adam Bakri, Mohammad Bakri, Cherien Dabis, and Maria Zreiq, and follows a Palestinian teenager involved in protests in the West Bank as his mother narrates their family's story of hope, courage, and struggle.
"All That's Left of You" has garnered critical acclaim at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and has won several international accolades, including the Golden Gate Award and Audience Award for Best Narrative at the San Francisco International Film Festival, Audience Award for Best International Narrative at the Sydney Film Festival, Best Film and Best Screenplay at the Malaysia International Film Festival, and the Silver Yusr Award at the Red Sea Film Festival. The Oscars nominations will be announced on January 22, 2026, with the ceremony set for March 16, 2026.
