Amman: The "National Security - Promising Leadership" exercise on Tuesday kicked off at Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC). The event engages former Prime Minister Samir Rifai, Assistant Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff for Operations and Training, Brig. Gen. Naji Manaseer, and a number of senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army. The RJNDC-implemented program focuses on "strategic" planning and state management, as part of the administrative and leadership training of the college's students.
According to Jordan News Agency, the two-week initiative aims to prepare "strategic" leaders at the level for the Kingdom's military and civilian sectors, as well as participants from foreign and Arab countries, amid developments in the strategic landscape at the local, regional, and international dimensions. Additionally, the sessions seek to train participants on strategic planning and methods of state management, with its various sectors and agencies during major crises and at various planning-centered levels.
Locally, the exercise introduces requirements for addressing "key" national security issues, Jordan's national security system and its operating mechanisms, strategic planning at the national level, policy and strategy planning, and operational and mobilization channels. During engagements, Rifai and the attendees praised the RJNDC students' performance in implementing the exercise activities, which enhances the college's capability to prepare leaders in the strategic planning field amid changes and challenges facing national security.
