Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, head of the committee to follow-up on the implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah’s Initiatives, on Saturday inaugurated the new Ruweished Government Hospital, one of key development projects being carried out in the eastern district in the Mafraq Governorate.

Issawi, accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Al-Kasbi and Health Minister Firas Hawari and Mafraq Governor Salman Najada, toured various sections of the United Arab Emirates-funded hospital.

They took a first-hand look at up-to-date equipment in the three-story, 20-bed hospital that includes kidney dialysis, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, intensive care and sterilization units, as well as a laboratory, pharmacy and logistics facilities.

The establishment of the hospital came upon a directive by His Majesty to cover the needs of local communities and provide best health and medical service to the public, especially in remote areas, within a comprehensive vision to achieve development, said Issawi.

The hospital, he added, will boost health care services in the far eastern Ruweished district and provide quality service by qualified and experienced medical staff.

To fulfill the royal vision of health care to citizens across the country, he noted, hospitals and medical centers have been maintained, expanded and rehabilitated and provided with the necessary medical devices and equipment

For his part, Hawari said the Royal Initiative to establish the Ruweished Hospital a “qualitative leap” in health and medical services in the region, especially improving quality service to patients by qualified cadres.

In addition to healthcare, Ruweished District is witnessing the implementation of other royal initiatives in a host of sectors, including education, agriculture, services, eco-tourism, social care, and income-generating projects, as well as programs to empower women and youth.
