Aqaba: The Jordanian Run Association, "Run Jordan," is gearing up to welcome runners from around the world for the "Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon" on Friday, December 6, in Aqaba. Organized under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Firas bin Raad and carrying the theme "Run for Noble Purposes," the marathon emphasizes the importance of sports in promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting charitable causes. According to Jordan News Agency, the event seeks to foster community solidarity and promote a spirit of giving. In a significant humanitarian gesture, 20 percent of the registration fees will be directed to aid families in Gaza through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization. This initiative underscores the association's commitment to solidarity and humanitarian support. Commenting on the event, Lina Kurd, Director General of Run Jordan, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the marathon in Aqaba, a city known for its natural beauty and modern tourism infrastructure. "We are excitedly preparing to organ ize the Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon in Aqaba, that wonderful city that combines natural beauty and advanced tourism infrastructure, making it the ideal destination for a unique sports and tourism experience," she said. Kurd noted that registration is open on the association's website, www.RunJordan.com. Runners may also register in Amman until December 4 or at the registration office in Aqaba's Great Arab Revolt Square from November 30 through December 5. The marathon is organized in collaboration with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and Ayla Oasis Development, the event's official sponsor. Strategic partners include the Greater Amman Municipality as the silver sponsor, along with Aqaba Development Company, KEMAPCO, the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, and the Aqaba Container Terminal Company as bronze sponsors. The event is further supported by media and advertising agencies, security organizations, and charitable institutions, which are providing volunteers. Together, they are helping to make the Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon a comprehensive event that blends sports, tourism, and community service into a cohesive national initiative.
