Russian Authorities Detain Minor Following US Embassy Threat Warning

Moscow:Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on Sunday the detention of a minor after the US Embassy in Moscow issued a warning about a 'credible threat of a mass casualty event' at the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve in Moscow.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the FSB reported that cultural events at the museum-reserve were canceled and security measures were intensified in the surrounding area. The minor in question had uploaded videos on TikTok, showcasing himself in tactical gear and holding an object resembling an automatic weapon, along with photos captioned 'I found a place' at the museum-reserve.

The FSB's investigation at the minor's residence led to the discovery of the clothing and accessories seen in the videos. Additionally, an analysis of the minor's communication devices revealed a TikTok account used for posting threats, a subscription to a neo-Nazi channel on Telegram, and numerous searches related to past terrorist attacks and acts of violence.

The FSB expressed gratitude to the US for providing the information. The US Embassy had previously warned about the potential threat at the palace museum and park reserve, advising people to avoid the area, remain vigilant, and steer clear of crowds. The US government was reportedly coordinating with Russian authorities in response to the threat.
