Russia’s position is firm on establishment of independent Palestinian state, says Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated his country's firm position on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. "Russia is following with pain and concern the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, and is doing its best to support the Palestinian people. Although Russia is busy with the special military operation in Ukraine, it still pays attention to what is happening in Palestine," Putin said Tuesday during his meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Moscow.
