Safadi and Miliband Affirm Commitment to Strengthening Jordan-UK Partnership

Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi and UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Ed Miliband have affirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership between Jordan and the United Kingdom and deepening coordination to bolster regional security and stability.

According to Jordan News Agency, the two officials discussed these matters during a phone call, where they explored avenues to expand bilateral cooperation across various sectors. Their conversation also focused on regional developments, emphasizing support for efforts aimed at ending dangerous escalations across the Middle East. They agreed to sustain coordination to stabilize Gaza and ensure the continuous, adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave.

The discussions further addressed the deteriorating situation in the occupied West Bank. Safadi warned against ongoing illegal Israeli escalation, highlighting the risks of igniting broader conflict in the region. He praised the UK's steadfast support for the two-state solution as a path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security for all parties.

Safadi also congratulated Miliband on assuming his role as Foreign Secretary, expressing his intent to work together to expand bilateral cooperation and foster regional stability.
