Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, in a phone call on Tuesday with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, discussed dangerous escalation in occupied Jerusalem and Palestinian territories, and means to protect Palestinian people from the ongoing Israeli attacks.

The two ministers stressed that the international community should take immediate and effective steps to stop illegal and unhumanitarian Israeli practices against the Palestinians in the occupied Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque/ Al Haram Al Sharif, and to respect the legal and historical status quo of the holy city.

Safadi and his counterpart also affirmed the two Kingdoms’ condemnation of illegal Israeli practices, warning that the forced evictions of the people of Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood and the aggression on Gaza will have consequences on the security and stability of the region as a whole.

During the talks, the two sides agreed to maintain coordination and consultation between their countries to bolster ties in various fields, and highlighted the importance of activating the joint Arab action to face common challenges and serve Arab interests.
