Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Call to Annex West Bank

Amman: Saudi Arabia strongly condemned recent remarks by an Israeli official calling for the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, denouncing the statement as a blatant violation of international law and United Nations resolutions.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom's firm rejection of any attempts to expand Israeli settlements on Palestinian territory and stressed the need for Israeli authorities to comply with international resolutions.

The ministry affirmed Saudi Arabia's full support for the Palestinian people in reclaiming their legitimate rights, in line with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, a firm and unwavering position of the Kingdom.
