Karak:Joint security units and specialized commando teams have successfully captured three terrorists involved in the recent attack on a church in Hmoud village, Karak Governorate, following a pre-dawn operation. This operation concluded an intensive, non-stop manhunt.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) detailed that continuous search and tracking efforts led intelligence teams to locate the suspects' hideout in an abandoned house within Karak Governorate. Upon being ordered to surrender, the suspects, who were barricaded, opened fire on the security forces.
The security personnel responded by returning fire as per standard rules of engagement, successfully wounding and disarming the three men before taking them into custody. The operation resulted in no casualties among the security forces, and a search of the site uncovered a cache of firearms and live ammunition.
The PSD affirmed in a statement that "terrorism has no place among us," emphasizing the swift response from law enforcement against those operating outside the law, faith, and shared moral standards. The directorate reiterated its determination to act decisively against any threats to national stability or citizen safety.
The terrorist assault on the church in Hmoud village occurred on Friday, claiming the lives of nine people and injuring 34 others.
