In the early hours after midnight, Israeli enemy forces opened heavy machine gun fire towards the southern Lebanese town of Aita al-Shaab in the central sector of southern Lebanon. The situation escalated at dawn with artillery strikes targeting the vicinity of Naqoura and Jabal al-Labouneh in the western sector. The attacks prompted most UNIFIL outposts south of the Litani River to sound their alarm sirens.
