Senate Palestine Committee Welcomes Gaza Ceasefire Agreement

Amman: The Senate's Palestine Committee on Thursday welcomed the prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which was announced on Wednesday evening.

According to Jordan News Agency, the committee stated that Israel's actions over the past 15 months have resulted in tragic and catastrophic conditions. The committee expressed appreciation for the Kingdom's stance against Israeli aggression and support for the Palestinian people's rights since the onset of the aggression on Gaza.

The committee reaffirmed its support for King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah's efforts in advocating for the Palestinian people's rights to establish their state and halt the aggression. They highlighted Jordan's pivotal role in breaking the Gaza siege and its presence on international platforms to stop aggression against Palestinians.

The committee emphasized that the ceasefire agreement is a positive step, urging for efforts to ensure its continuity, preserve Palestinian territorial unity, and facilitate humanitarian aid. Additionally, the committee expressed hope for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on pre-June 5, 1967, territories.
