Amman: Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez on Monday engaged in discussions with Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Louis-Martin Aumais, concentrating on enhancing Jordanian-Canadian relations and broadening cooperation across various sectors.
According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting held at the Senate headquarters, Al-Fayez acknowledged the developed level of relations between the two countries. He noted that the ties between Jordan and Canada are founded on mutual respect and the advancement of shared interests that serve both nations and their citizens.
Al-Fayez underscored the Senate's dedication to reinforcing parliamentary cooperation and backing initiatives that pave the way for bilateral engagement, particularly by activating existing agreements and fostering economic and investment collaborations.
The discussions also encompassed regional developments, with Al-Fayez emphasizing the necessity for tangible international measures to ensure Israel's full adherence to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. He described such measures as crucial to promoting peace and stability in the region.
Ambassador Louis-Martin Aumais expressed Canada's appreciation for the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting peace through political solutions and constructive dialogue. He highlighted the King's role in bolstering regional security and stability.
