Senate President and Qatari Ambassador Tackle Key Issues in Bilateral Meeting

Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday discussed Jordanian-Qatari relations and regional developments with Qatari Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani. The meeting was also attended by Senator Khawla Al-Armouti, head of the Jordanian-Qatari Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee.

According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez highlighted that the relations between Jordan and Qatar are grounded in mutual respect. He noted that both His Majesty King Abdullah II and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani are committed to enhancing bilateral cooperation in fields that serve the shared interests of both nations as well as broader Arab causes.

The discussions during the meeting also covered several pressing regional issues. Fayez emphasized that the Arab world is currently facing multiple challenges and crises, underscoring the importance of strengthening Arab unity to effectively address these difficulties.

Fayez reiterated Jordan's stance against foreign interference in the affairs of the Arab Gulf states. He stated that King Abdullah views the security and stability of the Gulf states as an essential part of Jordan's own security and stability, reflecting Jordan's steadfast Arab and nationalist positions.

Additionally, Fayez condemned Iranian actions against Jordan and the Arab Gulf states, labeling them as violations of international law and the United Nations Charter.

In response, the Qatari ambassador expressed his appreciation for the robust state of Jordanian-Qatari relations. He affirmed Qatar's commitment to further developing bilateral ties in multiple sectors.
