Senate President Faisal Fayez on Sunday called for cementing Jordanian-German relations in various fields, especially in political and economic spheres, and to increase joint investments between the two countries.

The remarks came during a meeting with German ambassador to Jordan, Bernhard Kampmann.

The senate president lauded the deep-rooted Jordanian-German relations, indicating that they are based on mutual respect and benefits for both sides.

Fayez urged the German side to increase investments in Jordan, benefit from available opportunities, and support projects for diversification of water sources and improvement of water and sewage networks.

The meeting tackled Middle East issues and importance of bringing about security and stability, in addition to finding a comprehensive and just solution for the Palestinian issue that is based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.

For his part, the ambassador expressed his country’s pride in the Jordanian-German relations, stressing commitment to advancing them. He also commended Jordan’s key role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, to resolve conflicts in the region and establishing security and stability.
