The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ oil derivatives pricing committee said Tuesday it is reducing fuel prices for the month of September, but fixed the price of a cooking gas cylinder.

The price of 90-octane gasoline will go down by JD0.015 to JD0.815 per litre, 95-octane gasoline will drop JD0.020 to JD1.050 per litre, and diesel and kerosene down JD0.010 to JD0.605 per litre each. The price of a cooking gas cylinder remained at JD7.00 dinars.

The decision was announced during the committee’s monthly meeting to review the fluctuation in the global oil market and accordingly set the selling prices of oil derivatives locally.

It found that global crude prices dropped in the month of August, compared to July prices.

Average Brent crude prices fell to $70.7 per barrel in August, compared to $75 per barrel in July.
