Sharjah Ruler Opens International Government Communication Forum

Sharjah: Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the 14th edition of the International Government Communication Forum at Expo Centre Sharjah under the theme "Communication for Quality of Life."

According to Jordan News Agency, the two-day event, organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, brings together over 237 speakers from around the world. In his opening remarks, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, emphasized the emirate's vision under the leadership of Sheikh Dr. Sultan. This vision places people at the center of development, considers culture as the basis of communication, and uses values as a compass for progress and sustainability.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi noted that since the forum's inception, communication that does not elevate people and their realities is viewed as incomplete. He highlighted that each edition has focused on advancing government communication practices. This year, the forum emphasizes communication for quality of life, which is built not only through laws but also through trust and dialogue that bring institutions closer to people and involve them in decision-making.

In a session titled "From Family Awareness to Community Solidarity," Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, discussed her early initiatives. These include founding the Al Montazah Girls Club, providing a safe space for young women to develop talents and practice sports, producing generations of accomplished leaders.

Sheikha Jawaher also highlighted the "Rubu' Qarn" project, which encompasses 31 centers with over 30,000 members, and her humanitarian work as the first-ever UNHCR Eminent Advocate for Refugee Children. Her efforts include initiatives in Jordan's Zaatari camp, Gaza, and Kenya.

The opening ceremony featured the UAE national anthem, video presentations on sustainability and community well-being, and a film showcasing Sheikha Jawaher's humanitarian and developmental initiatives for children and youth. Attendees included senior members of the Sharjah ruling family, UAE ministers, government officials, and media professionals.
