Sheikh Al-Khanjar stresses the necessity of the current stage being the starting point for restoring citizens’ confidence in local governments

The Head of the Sovereignty Party, Sheikh Khamis Al-Khanjar, met today with members of the Baghdad Provincial Council from the party and a number of the Sovereignty leadership in the capital, Baghdad. A statement from Al-Khanjar's office stated that: "During the meeting, the most important problems facing citizens were discussed, especially in the service and economic files, and ways to overcome them in the local government; Sheikh Al-Khanjar stressed that the priority should be to improve the living and service conditions of the people of the capital and meet their legitimate demands in various other sectors." In another axis of the meeting, the attendees discussed the political scene and the efforts that should be made to bring the viewpoints of the political parties closer together within the Baghdad Provincial Council, and that the current stage should be the actual starting point in restoring citizens' confidence in local governments; and the priority of integration with the federal government in recon struction and service development projects.
