Karak: Some 625 people visited the Southern Mazar shrines during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, drawing visitors from various Arab and foreign countries, alongside Jordanians. The shrines, which are dedicated to companions of Prophet Mohammad, are located in the Southern Mazar area of the Karak governorate.
According to Jordan News Agency, Director of Southern Mazar Awqaf Department, Dr. Ahmad Shamaileh, reported that approximately 625 people visited the shrines over the past few days. This included 129 Jordanians, 144 visitors from Arab countries, and 352 foreign tourists. These statistics are recorded monthly and contribute to enhancing religious tourism in the region.
Dr. Shamaileh also acknowledged the efforts of Jordan's security services in facilitating visitor entry and movement. He noted that security personnel were present at the shrine sites to regulate traffic and ensure smooth operations during the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
