Six Pakistani army soldiers, including an officer, and eight militants were killed in two separate security operations in Pakistan. Radio Pakistan, citing sources in the Pakistani army, reported that the forces carried out a security operation last night in the Waziristan region, where an intense exchange of fire took place, resulting in the killing of an officer, five Pakistani soldiers and six militants. Two other militants were also killed and another was injured in a similar operation in the Charbagh Swat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
