Amman: The Ministry of Social Development and the Princess Taghrid Institute For Development And Training have signed a cooperation agreement focused on training and rehabilitating girls and women under the care of the ministry's centers.
According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement was signed by the ministry's Secretary-General Barq Dhamour and the Institute's Director-General Aghadir Jwaihan. It outlines several collaboration areas aimed at the rehabilitation of women and girls in the ministry's centers, with a focus on their societal reintegration after leaving the facilities.
The agreement includes provisions for vocational training that equips beneficiaries with skills to start small businesses and access the labor market. It also aims to develop the infrastructure of production units in five care and protection centers for girls and women, alongside transferring knowledge and expertise through training trainers within the centers.
Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa stated that the partnership supports the sustainability of economic empowerment activities at the ministry's centers and underscores ongoing cooperation with civil society organizations in implementing social protection programs. Bani Mustafa also emphasized the significance of production exhibitions in promoting and marketing the products created by beneficiaries.
Director-General Aghadir Jwaihan expressed appreciation for the partnership with the Ministry of Social Development, highlighting that the agreement seeks to implement social projects targeting groups served by the ministry, particularly girls and women in care and protection centers, to enhance their rehabilitation, training, and economic skills.
