Social Security Corporation Clarifies Inheritable Pension Rights for Unmarried Women

Amman: The Social Security Corporation (SSC) confirmed on Wednesday that unmarried women's pension benefits can be inherited by her survivors under the provisions of Social Security Law.

According to Jordan News Agency, the SSC addressed and dispelled false circulating claims that unmarried women are not entitled to pass on their pension benefits. A single woman's pension is transferred to her parents, or in their absence, her siblings that she supported during her lifetime, according to the SSC. It added that the same rules apply to unmarried men.

The SSC urged Jordanians to verify information through official channels, including its website, verified social media accounts, or its contact center at 117117 or 065008080.
