Madrid: Spain said Saturday it submitted an action plan to the European Union to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, calling for urgent action to halt the destruction, death, and famine and bring about peace in the Middle East. Foreign Minister Jos© Manuel Albares announced the proposal, emphasizing the need for immediate intervention to address the ongoing crisis.
According to Jordan News Agency, Albares shared the news in a post on X, stating that Madrid will advocate for the plan during an EU foreign ministers' meeting. The minister stressed that the time has come for decisive action to end the hostilities and stabilize the region.
Spain's stance on the conflict has been consistent, as it has been calling for a halt to arms sales to Israel since 2023. The country took a further step by banning arms purchases from Israel, reinforcing its commitment to finding a peaceful resolution to the Gaza conflict.
