Amman: Director-General of the Government Tenders Department Mahmoud Hashem Khleifat met with Syrian Contractors Association President Fawaz Junaid and his delegation, alongside Jordanian Construction Contractors Association President Fouad Al-Duwairi, several board members, and department directors. The visit aimed to bolster joint cooperation and expertise exchange in government tenders and contractor classification.

According to Jordan News Agency, Khleifat emphasized the longstanding relationship between Jordan and Syria, highlighting Jordan's consistent support under directives from His Majesty King Abdullah. He detailed enhancements to efficiency in joint work through updates to the government procurement system, including amendments to contractor classification, licensing regulations, and evaluation models. Jordan has embraced digital transformation, automating classification, licensing, and consultancy services, and modernizing the information database with artificial intelligence for comprehensive data access by government entities.

Junaid expressed gratitude to Jordan's leadership and citizens for their unwavering support and dedication to collaboration, noting the visit as a pivotal step in fortifying professional ties to facilitate reconstruction and job creation efforts. He asserted that the partnership would advance the contracting sector and promote sustainable development in both nations.

Al-Duwairi remarked on the importance of expertise exchange between Jordanian and Syrian contractors, mentioning ongoing efforts to unify classification regulations, systems, and procedures among multiple Arab countries. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the contracting sector.
