Amman, The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Monday launched an initiative to provide school bags and stationery to Syrian refugee children in Jordan.

The “School Bag” project will secure 29,881 school bags and stationery for Syrian refugee students from first to ninth grade, in coordination with local charities in eight governorates, according to a JHCO statement.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said that the initiative is in support of the education sector and keenness to provide educational needs for underprivileged students, which “will have an impact on their psychological and social preparation (for the start of the second semester), help parents and reduce the financial burden on families”.

For his part, KSRelief director in Jordan Nayef Al-Shammari said that the project will cover 80 percent of Jordanian governorates, pointing out that it provides educational support, and is an opportunity, for beneficiary students to raise their level of academic achievement and relieve parents, given the difficult economic and living conditions.
