Tafilah: The Tafilah Public Works Directorate announced on Tuesday that 65 percent of the Tafilah-Karak Road rehabilitation project has been completed.

According to Jordan News Agency, the JD1.9 million project spans 17.5 kilometers of the Royal Highway and is expected to be completed before the end of the year, as stated by Directorate Director Ammar Hajjaj. The project involves road rehabilitation, asphalt paving, road widening, and implementing traffic safety measures such as signage, markings, and side guards. The road is frequently used by tourist groups and connects several southern governorates, serving as a vital tourist and transport route.

Hajjaj emphasized that the project is a key infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing the main segments of the Muluki Highway. It was announced during a recent Cabinet session in Tafilah and is part of efforts to modernize the road network, reduce hazardous turns, and limit traffic accidents.
