Telecom Operators Boost Networks to Support Al-Nashama During World Cup

Amman: The three telecommunications operators, Zain, Orange Jordan and Umniah, have enhanced network capacity and coverage across the Kingdom to support fans following the national football team's World Cup campaign. In statements to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the companies said they are fully prepared to provide reliable and high-quality connectivity services for fans following the national team's matches.

According to Jordan News Agency, the measures come in response to an expected rise in network usage during the World Cup period and the national team's campaign, adding that a range of technical and preventive steps have been taken to ensure stable services across the country. Zain Jordan, the exclusive telecommunications sponsor of the national football team, said it has strengthened network coverage in areas expected to witness large gatherings of fans. The company deployed mobile network units to increase capacity in high-traffic locations to help accommodate increased demand during match screenings.

Orange Jordan said it is fully ready to support fans through its telecommunications infrastructure and high-speed internet services at public viewing venues. It added that its technical teams are working around the clock to maintain service quality during periods of peak demand. The company said network development remains a continuous process and a key part of its operational strategy to ensure reliable services during major events.

Umniah, part of the Beyon Group, said it has expanded capacity across its mobile and fixed internet networks and increased international internet bandwidth to handle higher traffic during matches. It added that new international connectivity routes have been introduced to improve speed and network performance, while technical teams have been deployed across the Kingdom to monitor network operations and respond to any issues.

Umniah said it had installed a dedicated fiber-optic connection during the Jordan-Austria match to broadcast the game on the main screen at the Roman Theatre in high definition. It added that it is preparing for the upcoming Jordan-Algeria match by deploying a mobile telecommunications station equipped with 5G, 4G and 3G technologies at the venue to enhance coverage and network capacity for fans.
